Terms of business.
These are the standard terms for booking me for filming, photography, drone work, editing, branding and websites. They're written in plain English. Your quote or project agreement sets out the details of your job, and if it says something different from this page, the quote or agreement wins.
1. Who I am
Middo Creates is run by George Middleton, a sole trader.
Harpenden, Hertfordshire
[email protected]
I'm not VAT registered, so no VAT is added to my prices.
ICO registration number: ZC271823.
2. Quotes and bookings
- Prices on this site are starting points. Every job is quoted individually in writing.
- A booking is confirmed once we've both agreed the quote in writing (email is fine) and any deposit on the quote has been paid.
- Bigger projects, such as websites and branding, also get a written project agreement.
3. Payment
- Invoices are due within 7 days unless your quote says otherwise.
- Final files are released once the invoice is paid in full.
- If a business client pays late, I may pause the work and charge statutory interest and compensation under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
4. Rescheduling and cancelling
- Moving a shoot: happy to, with at least 48 hours' notice. Less notice than that may be charged as set out in your quote.
- Cancelling: you pay for any work already done. A deposit covers holding your date and early preparation, so it isn't refundable unless the cancellation rights below apply.
- If I have to cancel: for example through illness or an emergency, we'll find a new date together. If that doesn't suit you, you'll get back anything you've paid for work not done.
5. If you're booking as a consumer
If you're booking for yourself rather than a business, and we agreed the booking at a distance (online, by email, by phone or by message), you can cancel for any reason within 14 days of the booking being confirmed.
If you ask me to start work within those 14 days and then cancel, you pay for the work done up to that point. You lose the right to cancel once the work is fully done, for example if the shoot date falls inside the 14 days and the shoot has happened.
Nothing on this page affects your statutory rights.
6. Filming and drone work
- I'm registered with the CAA and insured for commercial drone work. Every flight follows the CAA rules, and I make the final call on whether a flight is safe and legal.
- Drone work depends on the weather. If it's unsafe to fly, we move the drone part of the job to the next suitable date at no extra cost.
- You confirm you have permission to film at the location, and you'll let people there know filming is happening.
7. Delivery and changes
- Your quote sets out what you'll get, the delivery timings and how many rounds of changes are included.
- Extra changes or extra work are quoted and agreed before I do them.
- Timelines depend on getting content and feedback from you on time.
8. Who owns what
- Once you've paid in full, you get a permanent licence to use the finished photos, videos and edits to promote your business, anywhere and forever.
- For branding work, you own the final logo and brand designs once paid.
- For footage-only jobs, the licence covers every clip I hand over.
- I keep the copyright in my photos and footage, my raw files and unused material, and the general code, tools and know-how I use across projects.
- I may show the work in my portfolio and on social media, unless you ask me not to in writing.
- Anything you send me stays yours, and you confirm you have the right to let me use it.
9. Liability
- I'll do the work with reasonable skill and care, but I can't guarantee specific results such as views, rankings, sales or bookings.
- My total liability for any job is limited to the price of that job. I'm not responsible for indirect losses such as lost profits.
- Nothing here limits liability where the law doesn't allow it, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
10. Your information
How I handle personal information is explained in my privacy notice.
11. Problems and the law
If something isn't right, email [email protected] and I'll do my best to sort it quickly.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales deal with any disputes.
I may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your job is the one in place when you booked.
